The Renwick Mansion is Davenport's finest example of classic Italian Villa Style architecture. Built in 1877, it was constructed by one of the city's most prominent lumber industrialists, William Renwick. Resting on four acres of terraced ground in the St. Katherine's Historic District and overlooking the Mississippi River, it features a rock faced limestone exterior, a third story tower with panoramic views and ornate iron cresting, as well as being elegantly appointed throughout the interior with magnificent woodwork, three grand reception rooms, library, a marble foyer, 12-14 foot-high wood parlor doors, four fireplaces, a fully equipped spacious kitchen, and an open three-story staircase which leads to eight beautifully furnished bedrooms.

Mission Statement

My purpose upon purchasing this property has been to make this stately home available for the use and enjoyment of the public. It was written that during William Renwick's era, in which his  family resided on the estate, that it was one of the most notable homes in the state of Iowa and that the charming cordiality with which those entering the home were received was always one of it's chief attractions.

My vision is to continue to carry on this tradition as well as enhance and maintain this beautiful residence and thus promote the historic preservation movement that is taking place throughout our nation.
